The short version
A plain-language summary. It isn’t a substitute for the full terms below, but it’s the gist.
- QuestForge is its own thing. We’re not Wizards of the Coast or Paizo, and they haven’t endorsed us.
- We use open game rules — Pathfinder content under the ORC License, and D&D-compatible content under an open licence. We credit as required.
- What you create is yours. We don’t sell your characters, and your imagination is not a placement opportunity.
- Some text and portraits are generated by AI — we aim to capture the spirit of what you have in mind, but always review before you bring it to the table.
- QuestForge is for players 10 and up. If you’re under 13, a parent or guardian needs to set things up.
Trademarks & non-affiliation
QuestForge is an independent product of QuestForge, Inc. It is not affiliated with, endorsed, sponsored, licensed by, or approved by Wizards of the Coast LLC or Paizo Inc., nor by any of their parent companies, subsidiaries, or affiliates.
Dungeons & Dragons, D&D, and their respective logos are trademarks of Wizards of the Coast LLC. Pathfinder, Starfinder, the Paizo golem, and related marks are trademarks of Paizo Inc. All other product names, logos, and brands are the property of their respective owners. We use these names only where necessary to describe compatibility — never to imply a relationship that doesn’t exist.
QuestForge uses only the rules content those publishers have made openly available under the licenses described in the next section. We do not use their trademarks, campaign settings, world lore, named characters, deities, organizations, artwork, or any other material they have reserved.
References to “D&D 5e” or “Pathfinder 2e” in the product indicate rules compatibility only.
↑ Back to topOpen game content & licensing
QuestForge generates characters and campaigns that are compatible with two game systems. The underlying rules — species and ancestries, classes, statistics, and similar functional elements — come from openly licensed reference documents. We reproduce the required notices below in full, and we honor the attribution terms of each license.
Pathfinder 2e — ORC License
Content for the Pathfinder 2e system is drawn from material released by Paizo Inc. under the Open RPG Creative License (“ORC License”). We include the required ORC Notice, attribution, and Reserved Material notice:
ORC notice ORC License
This product is licensed under the ORC License held in the Library of Congress at TX 9-307-067 and available online at various locations including paizo.com/orclicense and azoralaw.com/orclicense. All warranties are disclaimed as set forth therein.
Attribution: This product is based on the following Licensed Material — Pathfinder Player Core © 2023, Paizo Inc.; Pathfinder GM Core © 2023, Paizo Inc. Designed by Logan Bonner, Jason Bulmahn, Stephen Radney-MacFarland, and Mark Seifter.
Reserved Material: Reserved Material elements include all elements designated as Reserved Material under the ORC License — all trademarks, registered trademarks, proper nouns, artwork, characters, dialogue, locations, organizations, plots, storylines, and trade dress. Pathfinder and the Paizo golem are trademarks of Paizo Inc.
QuestForge uses only ORC Licensed Material (game rules and mechanics). It uses none of Paizo’s Reserved Material, and is not published on, or affiliated with, Pathfinder Infinite.
↑ Back to topAI-generated content
QuestForge uses AI to help you generate characters, taglines, backstories, campaign concepts, and portraits. We aim to capture the spirit and personality of each concept you bring to us.
- Accuracy. Our aim is to capture the look and feel of your character concept — but AI output can be inaccurate, inconsistent, or repetitive. Always review generated material before bringing it to the table.
- Ownership. As between you and QuestForge, the characters and campaigns you create and save are yours. We claim no ownership of your creative output.
- Similarity. Generated names and stories may resemble other works by coincidence. You are responsible for the material you publish or share publicly.
- Marking. AI-generated fields are marked in the product with the ✦ glyph so you always know what the model produced.
Terms of service
By creating an account or using QuestForge, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Eligibility & accounts
QuestForge is intended for players aged 10 and over. If you are under 13, a parent or guardian must create and manage your account (see Children’s privacy). You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for activity under your account.
Your content
You retain ownership of the concepts, characters, campaigns, and journal entries you create. You grant QuestForge a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely to operate and improve the service for you. We do not sell your creative content, and we do not use it to serve advertising.
Acceptable use
You agree to use QuestForge lawfully and in line with our Acceptable use policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
Disclaimers & liability
QuestForge is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, QuestForge, Inc. is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
↑ Back to topPrivacy
Your imagination is not a placement opportunity. We collect the minimum needed to run the service.
What we collect
- Account data — your email and display name.
- Creative data — the concepts, characters, campaigns, and entries you save.
- Operational data — basic logs needed for security, reliability, and debugging.
How we use it
We use your data to provide the service, generate content you request, keep your account secure, and respond to support requests. We do not sell personal data, and we do not run third-party advertising.
AI processing
When you generate content, the relevant prompt is sent to our AI provider (see Third-party services) to produce a result. We do not authorize that provider to train foundation models on your prompts through this service.
Retention & your rights
You can delete characters and campaigns at any time, and you can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data.
↑ Back to topChildren’s privacy
QuestForge welcomes younger players, and we take their privacy seriously. The service is designed to comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and comparable rules.
- Accounts for children under 13 must be created and managed by a parent or guardian, who provides verifiable consent.
- We collect only what is reasonably necessary for a child to use the service, and never condition participation on disclosing more than is needed.
- Parents and guardians may review, export, or delete their child’s information, and withdraw consent, by contacting us.
Acceptable use
When you use QuestForge, you agree not to:
- Generate or share content that is unlawful, hateful, harassing, or sexually explicit involving minors.
- Attempt to reproduce or extract third-party copyrighted text, trademarks, or reserved settings through the generator.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with the service or its AI systems.
- Misrepresent QuestForge as affiliated with, or endorsed by, any game publisher or other third party.
We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this policy.
↑ Back to topThird-party services
QuestForge relies on a small number of service providers to operate:
- Anthropic (Claude) — AI generation of text and concepts.
- Supabase — authentication, database, and storage.
- Google Fonts — delivery of the Zilla Slab, Atkinson Hyperlegible, and Geist Mono typefaces.
Each provider handles data under its own terms and privacy policy. We choose providers that let us keep your creative content private and free of advertising.
↑ Back to topCopyright & takedowns
We respect intellectual property. If you believe content on QuestForge infringes your copyright, send a notice to our designated agent with: a description of the work, the material you believe infringes and where it is, your contact information, a good-faith statement, and your signature.
Email legal@unleash-adventure.com with the subject line “Copyright notice.” We respond to valid notices promptly and may remove material or disable accounts in appropriate cases.
↑ Back to topChanges to these terms
We may update this page as the product evolves or the law changes. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date at the top and, where appropriate, notify you in the product. Your continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
